Dr. Amy Mullins has been hired as the new medical director for quality improvement at the American Academy of Family Physicians, a Leawood, Kan.-based organization with 110,600 members.
Mullins, 40, takes over the position once held by Dr. Bruce Bagley. Bagley, 66, was recently named president and CEO of TransforMED, the medical-home consulting arm of the AAFP.
Mullins has been a family physician and medical director at Trinity Clinic in Whitehouse, Texas, where she has practiced since 2002. She also served as physician champion of the system-wide medical home implementation for the Tyler, Texas-based Trinity Mother Frances Health System.
