Dr. Reginald Eadie was named president of Detroit Medical Center's Harper University Hospital and Hutzel Women's Hospital.
Eadie, an emergency medicine physician, had been president of the system's Sinai-Grace Hospital since January 2012 and assumes his new role Monday. He succeeds Lynn Torossian, who was appointed top executive at the two hospitals in July and has left the system.
Eadie joined Detroit Medical Center in 2008 as VP of medical affairs at the Harper and Hutzel hospitals, and he became president of the system's Detroit Receiving Hospital in 2010.
“Dr. Eadie is Detroit's doctor—he was born here, raised here, educated here and embodies this community we serve,” DMC CEO Joe Mullany said in a news release. “These two hospitals are at the heart of DMC's history of excellence, quality and innovation, which Dr. Eadie will surely be able to help continue and expand in the future.”
