The Mayo Clinic has received a $67 million contribution from Robert and Patricia Kern to bolster its efforts to improve delivery of patient care. The gift brings the Kern's total contributions to the Rochester, Minn.-based healthcare and research institution to $100 million since 2011.
The contribution will pay for five scientific director positions at the clinic and help create online education offerings, according to Mayo. It will also allow the center to share its scientific findings with healthcare providers across the country.
