McKesson names new senior VP, general manager of decision management unit

McKesson Health Solutions, part of healthcare services and information technology company McKesson Corp., named Ian Gordon senior VP and general manager for its Decision Management business, effective Sept. 26.

Gordon replaces Matthew Zubiller, who was promoted to VP of strategy and corporate development. At MHS, Gordon will help lead the company's payer-provider collaboration agenda and technologies, specifically InterQual, its evidence-based clinical decision-support products. Before joining the Newton, Mass.-based company, Gordon most recently served as president and CEO of Topaz Shared Services, a joint venture between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.

“Ian brings to our team a customer-centric view and 21 years of senior experience as a top payer market executive,” MHS President Dr. Emad Rizk said in a news release. “His decision management and industry expertise are unparalleled and will be crucial as we operationalize new collaborative technologies, such as coverage decision management, with clients across the payer and provider spectrum. Ian's understanding of the challenges ahead will help us take our point-of-care decision-support tools to the next level of market adoption, penetration, acceptance and capability.”
