St. Francis Medical Center names Binderman CMIO

St. Francis Medical Center, Lynwood, Calif., named Dr. Judi Binderman its first chief medical information officer, effective Sept. 30.

Binderman is a trained obstetrician/gynecologist who has more than 25 years of experience in patient care, healthcare operations and information technology. She has worked for several healthcare consulting companies and held several interim CMIO positions. Most recently, Binderman, 52, served as chief medical officer for healthcare IT consultants Encore Health Resources.

“We are very pleased to have Dr. Binderman join the St. Francis Medical Center senior leadership team,” St. Francis Medical Center President and CEO Gerald Kozai said in a news release. “Among Dr. Binderman's many strengths is her ability to build collaborative relationships and to establish clinical information system goals that successfully synchronize information technology with medical staff and healthcare operations to achieve high quality and cost effective patient care.”
