How it grew to become one of healthcare's hottest:For ScribeAmerica co-founder and CEO Dr. Michael Murphy, resting on previous successes is not an option. “There's constant pressure to innovate,” says Murphy, an emergency medicine physician. “Every single year, we've sought to create something new for the industry.” On top of securing more than 300 sites in 39 states as clients, ScribeAmerica has produced a textbook, phone app, training website and medical risk videos. The company also hosts an annual scribe leadership conference.
That kind of continuing education, plus career development opportunities and other incentives such as profit-sharing have helped ScribeAmerica grow from a company that started out in 2003 with only one medical scribe to a company that now employs more than 3,200 people.
