How it grew to become one of healthcare's hottest: Encompass has already completed six acquisitions in 2013 and is poised to continue pursuing deals the rest of the year. Wade Berry, employee relations specialist, attributes the strength of the business to streamlined technological processes and a focus on “honoring” employees.
New employees receive comprehensive training, with up to a week's time dedicated to instruction. After that, the company's Encompass Cares Foundation continues to support employees in their careers by sponsoring national and overseas medical mission trips. Berry says this allocation of resources aligns with CEO April Anthony's vision and values. “She wants them to go out and help people around the world,” he says.
