Smith, now assistant VP of IT operations at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, begins the job at Phoenix-based Banner on Oct. 1, succeeding retiring CIO Mike Warden.

Smith, now assistant VP of IT operations at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, begins the job at Phoenix-based Banner on Oct. 1, succeeding retiring CIO Mike Warden.
At Intermountain, Ryan was involved in developing and carrying out a plan to exchange clinical data between physicians in outpatient and community settings and Intermountain's electronic health-record system.
“While it's not easy to leave my friends and colleagues at Intermountain, I'm honored to be joining such an accomplished team at Banner and look forward to the great things we can achieve working together,” Smith said in a news release.
Banner Executive VP and Chief Administrative Officer Ron Bunnell said in the release that Smith's experience “matches where Banner is going in the coming years.”
