LifePoint Hospitals in Brentwood, Tenn., has named Leif Murphy CFO, effective Sept. 14.
Murphy, 45, first joined LifePoint in 2011 from dialysis services provider DSI Renal, where he was president and CEO. Most recently, Murphy, who has nearly two decades of healthcare finance and development experience, has been serving LifePoint as executive VP and chief development officer.
“For the past two years, he has been an integral part of our senior management team and played a leading role in managing and overseeing LifePoint's growth and development strategy, including acquisitions, innovative partnerships and in-market expansion efforts at existing hospitals,” LifePoint Chairman and CEO William Carpenter III said in a news release. “We are confident that his range of experiences will be invaluable as he serves as our chief financial officer.”
Murphy replaces LifePoint's current CFO Jeffrey Sherman, 47, who is leaving the company for an opportunity in Dallas, which is closer to his family.
