Mayo Clinic named Jeff Bolton to succeed Shirley Weis as the system's chief administrative officer this fall.
Bolton, Mayo's CFO since 2002, will work with Weis for the next few months and then assume her role as VP, administration and chief administrative officer on Nov. 15. The chief administrative officer works closely with Mayo President and CEO Dr. John Noseworthy to coordinate the strategy of the Rochester, Minn.-based institution, which has 23 hospitals in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, Florida and Georgia.
“Jeff brings to this position a strong commitment to our mission and patients, excellent strategic insight, a broad perspective and strong working relationships with leaders at all levels,” Noseworthy said in a news release.
Before joining Mayo, Bolton was VP for business and planning and CFO at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Weis announced in April that she planned to retire after spending 18 years with the organization.
This year she was named as one of Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Women in Healthcare.
