Patrick Muldoon has been hired as president of UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., effective Aug. 26.
Muldoon, 58, was named to his first CEO position at age 28, and has since led hospitals and health systems in Michigan, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. And he is already part of the UMass Memorial Health Care system, currently serving as president and CEO of Leominster, Mass.-based Health Alliance Hospitals.
“Patrick is an ideal leader for UMass Memorial Medical Center,” Dr. Eric Dickson, UMass Memorial Health Care president and CEO, said in a news release. “Patrick's extensive leadership reach within our healthcare system and now as the chairman of Massachusetts Hospital Association, will serve the medical center, its patients, physicians and staff exceptionally well, as we journey to become the best place to give care and the best place to get care.”
