Precision for Medicine, which provides specialized services and infrastructure to support life science companies and next generation medical products, has named Eric Perakslis senior adviser for bioinformatics and information technology.
Perakslis, who once served as CIO and chief scientist of informatics at the Food and Drug Administration, joined the Bethesda, Md.-based company on July 1. In his new role, he is responsible for providing strategic and scientific leadership in Precision for Medicine's development, acquisition and execution of bioinformatics and health IT products and services. Perakslis, whose age was not available, is also executive director of the Center for Biomedical Informatics and Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
