Accenture Federal Services to acquire ASM Research

Accenture Federal Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture, the global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, has announced that it will acquire ASM Research.

ASM Research, based in Fairfax, Va., provides healthcare information technology products and services, data analytics, cloud, data warehousing, human capital and benefits management, and agile software development to U.S. government and defense clients. With ASM Research as a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture Federal Services, Accenture, which currently serves every cabinet-level department of the government and 20 of the largest federal organizations, expects to augment capabilities and opportunities with both the Defense Department and the Veterans Affairs Department.

“This strategic acquisition will expand our U.S. federal health capabilities, serving the needs of military personnel and veterans, and will help us better support clients in our growing health business across North America,” Steve Rohleder, Accenture’s group chief executive of its Health and Public Service operating group, said in a news release.

Jim Traficant, Accenture Federal Services’ managing director, will serve as president of the new subsidiary, overseeing its strategic operations, market positioning, client relationships and more than 400 employees. The acquisition, for which terms were not disclosed, remains contingent upon regulatory review.
