Hospital medicine and critical-care company Cogent Healthcare has named Dean Weiland president and CEO and a member of its board.
Weiland joins the Brentwood, Tenn.-based company, formerly known as Cogent HMG, from his role as COO at dialysis company Renal Advantage. Also a founder of Renal Advantage, Weiland led its merger with Liberty Dialysis and Fresenius Medical Care. His age was not immediately available.
“Cogent is very fortunate to add Dean to our already outstanding management team and board of directors,” Executive Chairman Randy Thurman said in a release. “I am confident his leadership will further position Cogent to grow and succeed in today's healthcare environment. Dean is a proven leader and brings an exceptional track record leading healthcare service companies.”
