Hospitals looking for guidance on the health reform law's insurance exchanges, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program—as well as information on how to help people enroll in those programs—received some help this week from the American Hospital Association.
The AHA posted a new resource page on its website that boldly features “Get Enrolled!” at the top with a message reminding members that open enrollment on the health insurance marketplaces begins Oct. 1.
“But people won't enroll if they don't know about the new coverage options,” the notice said, adding that it's “critical” for all community stakeholders, including hospitals, to help make the enrollment process easy for consumers. Members can search for AHA, national and state resources on the site, which also includes links to other websites under those three headings.
Earlier this summer, the Obama administration and the not-for-profit organization Enroll America both kicked off public outreach campaigns to help Americans learn about the law and its coverage options, while also relying on help from grassroots organizations to spread the word.
