Brandes, Kirshner join Valence Health

Chicago-based Valence Health, which helps healthcare providers with clinical integration, population health and financial risk management, has named two new executives to its team—Bruce Brandes as executive VP for growth and innovation and David Kirshner as VP of corporate and business development.

Brandes, 46, who brings more than 25 years of executive management and business development experience, joined Valence July 8 from digital health company AirStrip, where he was executive VP and chief strategy officer. In his new role, he will be opening an office for Valence in Nashville and will be in charge of initiatives to drive the company's growth.

Kirshner, 55, joined Valence June 24. He will focus on building both client and partner relationships, as well as Valence's pediatric segment. He previously led the financial turnaround of four major hospitals, including Boston Children's Hospital, where he most recently served as VP, CFO and treasurer.

“Both Bruce and David have helped to create the kind of innovative healthcare organizations that will thrive under the rapidly evolving healthcare delivery model,” Valence Health CEO Phil Kamp said in a release. “We eagerly anticipate the contributions they'll make at Valence Health, increasing our ability to provide clients with a clear path to clinical integration, population health and value-based models.”
