Alameda Health System, Oakland, Calif., has named Dr. William Peruzzi as its new CMO.
Peruzzi, whose age wasn't provided, served as the vice chief medical officer and executive medical director of critical-care services at the University of Miami (Fla.) Hospital.
“Dr. Peruzzi's track record of success as a physician, an educator and as a physician-executive is unparalleled," said Wright Lassiter III, Alameda's CEO, in a news release. “His extensive experience in key strategic areas will serve a crucial role as we continue preparing for expansion and regional implementation of the Affordable Care Act in California.”
Dr. Kathleen Clanon had served as interim CMO. Alameda Health System is the former Alameda County Medical Center. The organization changed its name in March.
