Garry Menzel will join DaVita Healthcare Partners as CFO in September. Menzel, 48, will start at the Denver-based company as senior VP of finance and then officially begin serving as CFO after the company files its third-quarter financial results. Since 2008, Menzel has served as COO and CFO of San Diego biopharmaceutical company Regulus Therapeutics. He assumes the CFO role from James Hilger, interim CFO since April 2012, who will remain with the company as chief accounting officer.

James Scoggin Jr. will retire Oct. 1 as president of HCA's North Texas Division. Scoggin, 55, is a 26-year HCA veteran who has served since 2006 as president of the division that includes 14 hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Oklahoma City markets. Erol Akdamar, CEO of HCA's Medical City Dallas Hospital since 2010, will replace Scoggin as the North Texas president. Akdamar, 46, has been with HCA since 1993. Thomas Corley, 59, CFO of the North Texas Division, is scheduled to retire Dec. 31 after 34 years with the company. … Boone Hospital Center, a member of BJC HealthCare, named Jim Sinek president, effective Aug. 12. Sinek brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to the Columbia, Mo., hospital, most recently as president and CEO of Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Neb. … Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., named Terry Carroll chief innovation officer. Beginning in September, Carroll's duties will include strategic planning and supporting innovation, new business development and management, information design, technology evaluation and acquisition, information integrity and security, medical informatics, clinical use of data and telecommunications. Carroll, 58, currently is senior VP of transformation and CIO at Fairview Health Services in Princeton, Minn. … Robert Baxter was promoted to regional CEO of St. Rita's Health Partners, a division of Cincinnati-based Catholic Health Partners that includes St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. Baxter, 45, had been president of the Lima hospital since 2010. As regional CEO, he succeeded Brian Smith, 48, who was promoted to CEO of the system's North Division.
Healthland, which develops health IT for rural and critical-access hospitals, named Chris Bauleke CEO, effective July 8. Bauleke, 46, comes to Minneapolis-based Healthland from McKesson Corp., where he most recently was a president in its connectivity unit, RelayHealth. He will succeed Angie Franks, who will serve as president and lead the company's strategy and market development.
