“Jim has been both a colleague and an outstanding leader for many years,” HCA's American Group President Jon Foster said in a release. “He has led a diverse group of facilities that achieved numerous quality milestones and strong growth.”
Erol Akdamar, CEO of HCA's Medical City Dallas Hospital, will replace Scoggin as the North Texas Division president. Akdamar, 46, has been with HCA since 1993, but moved to his current executive role in 2010.
“Erol is a dynamic leader and a seasoned veteran of HCA,” Foster said in the release. “His familiarity with both the market and HCA's culture will serve him well as he continues to build on our North Texas Division's strong reputation for clinical quality and operational excellence.”
North Texas Division's CFO Thomas Corley, a 34-year employee of HCA, is also scheduled to retire this year, as of Dec. 31. HCA has already begun conducting searches for both Corley and Akdamar's replacements.
