Healthland, which develops health information technology for rural and critical-access hospitals, named Chris Bauleke as its new CEO, effective July 8.
Bauleke, 46, comes to Minneapolis-based Healthland from McKesson, where he most recently was a president in its connectivity unit, RelayHealth. He will succeed Angie Franks, who will serve as president and lead the company's strategy and market development. Franks joined the company in 2010.
As of the end of February, Healthland ranked fifth among health IT vendors by the number of hospitals using its complete EHR systems to win federal incentives for meaningful use of the technology.
In May, the company acquired American HealthTech, a Jackson, Miss.-based company that makes EHR systems for post-acute providers.
Healthland said in a news release that Bauleke brings expertise in integrating acquisitions and that his appointment signals continued growth for the company.
