Deloitte has named Brett Davis general manager of its newly launched Deloitte Health Informatics, which provides advanced analytics services and products to healthcare providers, researchers and medical manufacturers.
Davis, who joined Deloitte in Philadelphia on May 1, most recently served as senior director of business development for the health sciences global business unit of hardware and software developer Oracle Corp. His age was not immediately available.
“Brett has the unique blend of leadership skills and technical know-how needed to advance Deloitte's roll-out of the DHI organization,” Deloitte's chief innovation officer Andrew Vaz said in a release. “Life sciences and healthcare are strategic markets for us, and Brett's leadership will impact our ability to guide our clients on their journey to unlocking the power of data to transform healthcare.”
In February, DHI announced an alliance with Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare to create a network of researchers, medical informatics and analytics professionals that will draw upon Intermountain Healthcare's electronic health-records data to provide health analytics insights for the medical community.
And in Boston today, at the annual Drug Information Association meeting, Davis, Deloitte and Intermountain Healthcare are announcing the launch of OutcomesMiner, an analytics tool designed to assist in leveraging the electronic medical records data. In his new role, Davis will be guiding OutcomesMiner's rollout in the marketplace.
