Crosby is retiring after serving as the Chicago-based association's executive director since 1997. White-Faines, 53, is scheduled to join the AOA next month. Anita Doupnik has been elected president of the Florida Health Information Management Association. Doupnik, an account executive at Precyse, a health information management technology and services company with offices in Wayne, Pa., and Alpharetta, Ga., will begin serving her three-year term at FHIMA in July, first as president-elect in 2013-14, president from 2014-15, and past-president from 2015-16, according to a Precyse news release.
Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems has announced that Catherine Bruno, its VP and CIO, plans to retire in December. Bruno has overseen the healthcare system's information systems applications, operations and staff since 2005, also leading its implementation of an electronic health-record system. The Brewer-based health system will work with a national search firm to identify a replacement CIO for when Bruno retires Dec. 6, EHMS Senior VP and Chief Transformation Officer Dr. Richard Freeman said in a news release. EMSH did not provide Bruno's age. … Vincent Caponi has been named executive chairman of the board for St. Vincent Health in Indianapolis and senior VP of Ascension Health Alliance, the St. Louis-based Roman Catholic health system that owns St. Vincent Health. Effective July 1, Caponi, 62, will transition from his current roles as CEO of St. Vincent Health, which he has held since 1998, and Ascension Health ministry market leader for Indiana, which he took on in 2007. Caponi was also named ministry market leader for Wisconsin in 2011. Ian Worden, 60, currently COO for St. Vincent Health, will serve as interim CEO of the not-for-profit system. Dr. Michael Schatzlein, 62, president and CEO of St. Thomas Health in Nashville and Ascension Health ministry market leader for Tennessee, will add the ministry market leader responsibilities for Indiana. …
Dr. Herman Gray will step down from the president's role at Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit as he takes on the job as the hospital's new CEO. Gray's new title also makes him VP of pediatric health services for the hospital's parent, for-profit Vanguard Health Systems. Gray, a pediatrician, will continue as president during a national search for his replacement. His new job will allow him to work on expanding services at the hospital, including ambulatory care, while working with Vanguard officials on pediatric care and academic endeavors. Four years ago, he was appointed to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, a federal advisory panel. Gray was named to Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare in 2010. His age wasn't provided. … The North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Great Neck, N.Y., has named Dr. Ira Nash senior VP and executive director of the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group. Nash, 54, a board-certified physician in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, is also a professor of cardiology and population health at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine in Hempstead, N.Y. He will work with the administrative and clinical leadership of the health system while overseeing the medical group, which includes more than 2,400 physicians in his new role. … Eastar Health System in Muskogee, Okla., has named Anthony Young CEO. Young, 54, previously served as president and COO of CareATC, a Tulsa, Okla.-based company that provides employer-sponsored healthcare products and services. Before that, Young was founder, president and CEO of SouthCrest Hospital in Tulsa. ... Ashley Regional Medical Center named Ben Cluff to succeed Steve Selzer as CEO, effective July 15. Selzer has served as interim CEO of the Vernal, Utah-based hospital since January. Cluff will join LifePoint Hospitals, which owns Ashley Regional, from Community Health Systems, where he was named assistant CEO of the College Station (Texas) Medical Center in May 2012. … LifePoint's Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, Va., promoted Peter Mulkey to CEO from COO, a position he has held since 2010. He joined the hospital 30 years ago and moved from clinical pharmacist to director of pharmacy services to assistant hospital administrator.
CareCloud, a Boston-based provider of cloud-based practice management, electronic health record and medical billing software and services, has named Tom Cady VP of professional services. Cady, 50, comes to CareCloud from Athenahealth, where he was most recently VP of professional services at the Watertown, Mass., company. … Shareable Ink, an enterprise cloud computing company that turns point-of-care clinical documentation into structured data and analytics, has named Laurie McGraw CEO and a member of its board of directors. McGraw, 49, joins the Nashville company from Allscripts, where she was most recently chief client officer. She also served as president of strategic accounts and president of enterprise solutions during her 12 years at the Chicago-based company.
Convergent Revenue Cycle Management, which provides revenue-cycle management and patient-access services to healthcare providers, named John Frenzel its first CFO. Frenzel will be responsible for executive financial leadership for the company's healthcare operations, including its third-party insurance follow-up, self-pay, patient access solutions and bad-debt-recovery business units. Frenzel joins the Gainesville, Va.-based healthcare division from the healthcare technology outsourcing firm Conifer Health Solutions, where he was also CFO.
