McKesson Corp. CFO Jeffrey Campbell is leaving the healthcare services and information technology company for American Express.
Campbell, 52, has been an executive VP and CFO at McKesson for the past 10 years. McKesson named VP and Controller Nigel Rees to assume the role, effective June 28, until a replacement is chosen.
John Hammergren, the company's CEO, praised Campbell in a news release. “He has superbly guided McKesson's financial functions during a period of steady growth and shareholder value creation, and he has developed a strong team of individuals who will continue leading our finance operations during this transition,” he said.
Campbell's total compensation in the company's fiscal 2013, which ended March 31, was $12.3 million, according to a proxy statement issued to shareholders today ahead of its July 31 annual meeting.
McKesson's results were down slightly for the year. The company earned $1.3 billion on $122.4 billion in revenue, compared with $1.4 billion and $122.7 billion in fiscal 2012.
American Express said Campbell would join the company in early August.
