IMS Health acquires Incential Software

Prescription drug and device data-miner IMS Health has announced its fourth acquisition since March, purchasing Incential Software, a Raleigh, N.C.-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider, for an undisclosed sum.

Danbury, Conn.-based IMS Health said Incential's offerings, which include cloud-based services for incentive compensation, would boost “sales performance management capabilities” for its life sciences clients. Incential's technology and services will now be part of IMS One, IMS Health's commercial platform, the company said.

Incential Software is the fourth SaaS company to be purchased by IMS Health in recent months. In May, the company acquired 360 Vantage, a cloud-based sales and marketing systems provider headquartered in Chandler, Ariz. Just three weeks earlier, IMS Health announced it had acquired healthcare social-media analytics company Semantelli Corp., Bridgewater, N.J.

And in March, the company announced its acquisition of Seattle-based Appature, a marketing data company that serves drug and device companies.
