M*Modal, a Franklin, Tenn.-based provider of clinical documentation services, has appointed Duncan James to be CEO and a member of its board of directors.
James has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare information and technology industries. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Reston, Va.-based QuadraMed Corp., a provider of clinical, access and revenue management products and services. In his new role at M*Modal, he replaces Vern Davenport.
On Monday, it was announced that QuadraMed has been acquired by Constellation Software.
“This is a very exciting, positive period for M*Modal as it continues to grow and increase its presence in the healthcare industry's important clinical documentation segment,” Greg Belinfanti, partner at One Equity Partners, which owns M*Modal, said in a news release. “Duncan is a proven leader within the healthcare IT space and we are confident that he will build on the company's current momentum.”
James' new position is effective immediately, as are several other appointments at M*Modal, including Graham King to chairman of the board. Ron Scarboro, CFO, has been named COO, replacing Amy Amick. David Woodworth, who is currently VP of finance, will fill in for Scarboro as acting CFO.
