Minneapolis-based Healthland, an information-technology provider focused on rural community and critical-access hospitals, has acquired American HealthTech, a Jackson, Miss.-based software and electronic health-record developer for the post-acute care sector.
Financial details weren't provided. Healthland, owned by private-equity firm Francisco Partners, employs 300, while American HealthTech employs 150. The companies will continue to operate under their own brands.
“With changes to our nation's healthcare delivery system well underway, Healthland and AHT will be focused on helping clients thrive within this new system,” Healthland President and CEO Angie Franks said in a news release.
“Many providers need solutions and tools to make the transition from a fee-for-service system to a population management model. We will provide a critical element of that transformation—a shared health record that follows the patient across the entire care continuum, including preventive, outpatient, inpatient, post-acute and in-home care.”
