Health IT consulting firm Stoltenberg names Herr VP

Stoltenberg Consulting, a healthcare information technology consulting firm based in Pittsburgh, has named Douglas Herr its VP of Epic practice and client relations.

In his new role, Herr, 41, focuses on Epic vendor relations, Epic practice growth, retention, recruiting oversight and sales support, as well as the management of Stoltenberg's Epic consultants. Before joining Stoltenberg on Feb. 4, Herr was Epic practice director with Westfield, Ind.-based MaxIT Healthcare, also an IT consulting firm for the healthcare industry.

“As the healthcare industry rapidly advances and hospitals are challenged with Stage 2 meaningful-use requirements, the ability to utilize EHR data in a meaningful way is essential to improving healthcare quality, efficiency and patient safety,” Stoltenberg President and CEO Sheri Stoltenberg said in a news release. “Doug's ongoing healthcare IT work and extensive experience with Epic make him well-suited to understanding the needs of today's caregivers to effectively implement HER solutions that promote better care delivery and practice.”
