Cognosante, which provides information technology services to healthcare organizations, appointed Michael Lundie on April 8 to lead its health information exchange practice.
Lundie, 53, has more than 30 years of experience in technical leadership, software development, large-scale network operations and business-critical management. He has worked with the McLean, Va.-based company since September 2011, focusing on health information exchange implementations and the technical direction of that practice. In his new role as practice director, Lundie will drive the business and marketing strategy for HIE and SmartStream, Cognosante's patented solution that collects, integrates and filters patient clinical and administrative data, and generates real-time alerts, reminders and other messages.
