Wilhite named marketing chief at Medidata

Medidata Solutions in New York has named Steven Wilhite chief marketing officer and executive VP.

Wilhite, who has 25 years of marketing experience across industries and brands, will lead all global marketing activities for the provider of cloud-based clinical development solutions. Before joining Medidata on May 1, Wilhite, 60, held senior marketing and executive leadership positions for brands including Apple, Volkswagen, Nissan and Hyundai. Since 2008, he has served as CEO of Jumpstart Automotive Group, San Francisco.

“Steve has a long track record of building strong, clearly defined brands and achieving excellent business results,” Tarek Sherif, chairman and CEO of Medidata Solutions, said in a news release. “Our market is at an inflection point in adopting Medidata's platform, and Steve's insights and expertise will be invaluable as we grow our business to help the life sciences industry meet their challenges.”
