At the beginning of this month, Dr. Mark Batshaw was named physician-in-chief for Children's National Medical Center in Washington.
In his new role, Batshaw, 67, will be the lead physician for the medical center, working with the chief medical officers to align strategies and priorities across clinical care, research and education. He will also be responsible for the research and educational activities of the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children's National, while continuing to serve as chief academic offer at the medical center, director of the Children's Research Institute, and chairman of pediatrics and associate dean for academic affairs at the George Washington University School of Medicine.
