Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, named Michael Dandorph executive VP and executive director of Rush University Hospitals, according to a news release.
The 45-year-old Dandorph worked as the senior VP of strategy and business development at University of Pennsylvania Health System, Philadelphia.
Dandorph will start at Rush on June 3.
“Michael Dandorph is a highly strategic and results-oriented healthcare executive with substantial leadership experience,” said Rush University Medical Center President Peter Butler in the news release. “He brings to Rush more than 17 years of broad, senior leadership experience within an academic health system.”
Dandorph will oversee the medical center's hospitals and ambulatory services. He replaces J. Robert Clapp Jr., who held the post from 2005 until his death from cancerin August 2012.
