AliveCor taps Sullivan for CEO post

San Francisco-based AliveCor, which provides a mobile device-based ECG monitor for the iPhone, has named Dan Sullivan president, CEO and member of the board of directors.

Sullivan, 58, whose background is in building medical solutions businesses, joined the digital health company on March 21. Most recently, Sullivan built SuperDimension, a Minneapolis company that provides technology used to diagnose and treat pulmonary conditions, before selling it to Mansfield, Mass., medical equipment and supply company Covidien.

“Dan's unique entrepreneurial background in building several companies to market leadership makes him the ideal CEO to lead AliveCor as we move to global commercialization,” Steven Burrill, chairman of AliveCor, said in a release. “We are delighted that Dan will be leading the company as we expand our devices, subscriptions and insights offerings over the next several months.”
