Lindgren joins Availity as senior VP and general counsel

Karin Lindgren has joined Jacksonville, Fla.-based health information network Availity as general counsel and senior VP of legal and regulatory affairs. She is also acting as Availity's chief compliance officer and corporate secretary.

Lindgren, 52, came on board March 1, bringing with her 28 years of experience as a healthcare technology lawyer, including a focus on entrepreneurial healthcare software, technology companies and medical informatics. Lindgren's most recent role was as general counsel for the Reed Group, a cloud computing software and informatics services company based in Boulder, Colo.

“Karin brings a unique perspective with both a stellar legal and regulatory background and significant experience as a senior executive in health information technology,” Russ Thomas, CEO of Availity, said in a release.

Lindgren also teaches graduate courses in medical informatics at the University of Colorado and Northwestern University, which she will continue doing.
