Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has appointed Dr. Patrick Frias to the role of chief of its children's physician group, effective April 8.
Frias is an associate professor of pediatrics at the Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. He has also served as director of outpatient services for Sibley Heart Center Cardiology, part of Children's Healthcare, since 2005.
“Dr. Frias has an exceptional reputation as a cardiologist with Sibley Heart Center, and we are thrilled to have him join our executive team,” Donna Hyland, president and CEO, said in a release.
As the first chief of the children's physician group at the not-for-profit organization, Frias is responsible for the clinical performance and management of the physician practices, which include more than 350 physicians and 500 nursing staff across 30 pediatric specialties. He also works with Children's Healthcare's academic partners to develop and carry out the mission and research goals of the organization.
