Ascenzo to head up NewVantage healthcare practice

NewVantage Partners, a Boston-based consulting firm that advises executives on data and analytics for business solutions, has named Carl Ascenzo partner and leader of its newly launched healthcare practice.

Ascenzo, 59, most recently served as head of global healthcare solutions for Westborough, Mass.-based IT services company Virtusa. He was formerly CIO and senior VP of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where he oversaw the company's information technology strategy, architecture, development and operations.

Ascenzo began his new role at NewVantage Healthcare on April 1. The new practice will provide healthcare and life-sciences clients with best practices and industry solutions to leverage enterprise information and data capabilities, leading to improved efficiencies, quality and revenue, as well as a reduction of costs.
