Allscripts drops suit against N.Y.C. system

Chicago-based Allscripts Healthcare Solutions has withdrawn from a civil lawsuit it filed late last year in a bidding dispute with the public hospital system run by the city of New York, the company has announced.

In an e-mailed statement, Allscripts said it has “discontinued its legal action against the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp. regarding the award of the Integrated Clinical Information System contract and looks forward to having the opportunity to work with HHC on other matters in the future.”

Evelyn Hernandez, director of media relations for the 14-hospital public system, said in an e-mailed statement that it “is pleased that Allscripts has withdrawn the lawsuit.”

Neither Allscripts nor the New York hospital system responded to questions whether there was a settlement agreement in addition to Allscripts dropping its suit.

Allscripts sued the system in December, asking for a New York court to overturn the public hospital authority's purchase decision to award a $302.8 million EHR contract to Epic Systems Corp., Verona, Wis.
