Carroll hired as CEO of Arcadia Solutions

Burlington, Mass.-based Arcadia Solutions has appointed Sean Carroll CEO and member of its board of managers.

Carroll joins the data-driven health information technology provider April 1 from his role as senior VP of health information management at Nuance Communications. Before that, Carroll, whose age was not immediately available, served as CEO of Webmedx, from July 2004 until its purchase by Nuance in 2011. Webmedx was previously owned by Ferrer Freeman & Co., the same private equity firm that acquired Arcadia late last year.

“Sean’s extensive experience in healthcare technology makes him ideally suited to lead Arcadia,” David Freeman, chairman of Arcadia’s board of managers and a co-founding member of Ferrer Freeman, said in a release. “Having worked with Sean for over seven years at Webmedx, we are confident that he will be immensely valuable to Arcadia as we embark on the next chapter of growth as a company.”

Arcadia Solutions, founded in 2002, assists its clients in the design, development and implementation of healthcare IT solutions and strategies. Terms of its acquisition by Ferrer Freeman and Arcadia’s senior management were not disclosed.
