Greg Vigdor is the new president and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association as of March 4.
Vigdor, whose age was not immediately available, joins the Phoenix-based organization from Seattle, where he has been president and CEO of the Washington Health Foundation since its founding in 1992. At the foundation, he helped direct its service programs, engagement strategies, education and research for the health of the state's residents.
“We have a tremendous opportunity through Greg's leadership to enhance the mission of AzHHA to sustain and improve the health of Arizonans and to support hospitals through advocacy, education and services,” Judy Rich, president and CEO of Tucson Medical Center and chair of the AzHHA board of directors (PDF), said in a release.
Vigdor takes over the leadership role from Leo Greenawalt, interim president and CEO, who has filled in since Laurie Liles officially stepped down in January.
AzHHA represents Arizona hospitals, healthcare systems, affiliated health organizations and the communities they serve, advocating on issues that affect healthcare quality statewide.
