Lefar named CEO at Sg2

Sg2 announced the promotion of company President Steve Lefar to CEO, effective Feb. 12.

Lefar, 46, has served as president of the Skokie, Ill.-based healthcare strategic analytics and intelligence company for two years. He will continue to act as president, but will also assume more of the day-to-day operations that have been led by founder Michael Sachs. Sachs will continue as chairman.

“Steve has helped our clients realize the potential that comes with combining their organization's information, unique market analytics and Sg2's expertise,” Sachs said in a news release.

As president, Lefar has led the development and integration of the Edge System—an analytical platform of market and provider information—for Sg2's clients.

“His thought leadership is recognized throughout the industry,” Sachs said.

Sg2 provides strategic market analytics, forecasts, education and consulting to more than 1,200 healthcare organizations worldwide.
