Mercy Health expanded its reach to 32 hospitals in four states following a deal in which 219-bed Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Mo., joined the system for undisclosed terms effective Feb. 1, a news release from Mercy said.
Under the deal, Mercy of Chesterfield, Mo., will make “significant capital improvements” in Jefferson and will establish a grant-making charity known as the Jefferson Memorial Community Foundation to disburse grants to the local community. The foundation will seek to support health services, education and research and the public welfare, the news release said.
