Klein named CEO at Providence Holy Cross

Officials at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Mission Hills, Calif., named Dr. Bernard Klein as the hospital's CEO, according to a news release. Klein had been serving as interim CEO since September.

Klein, 52, was the hospital's CMO. He replaces Larry Bowe, who left for a regional position with the hospital's parent, Providence Health & Services, Southern California. Klein has worked at the Providence system since 2005 as he served as CMO for both Holy Cross and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.

“Bernie stood out immediately among some very qualified candidates for his knowledge, his dedication and his innovative thinking in steering this ministry through the challenges facing today's healthcare industry,” said Michael Hunn, senior VP and chief executive for Providence Health & Services California, in the release. “He is so well-respected and loved at Providence Holy Cross and is a key reason this hospital is consistently listed among the best.”
