The Michigan Health Information Network has named Robert Milewski to its board of directors, according to a news release.
Milewski serves as senior VP and special assistant to the president for hospital relations at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder also appointed him as a commissioner on the state's Health Information Technology Commission. His age wasn't provided.
“Bob is a valuable addition to the MiHIN Board—we welcome his reputation for productivity and execution and look forward to Bob applying his results-orientation to augment and accelerate MiHIN's progress,” said Tim Pletcher, the network's executive director, in the release. “His experience with Michigan's largest health plan will be invaluable as MiHIN continues to grow and deliver on its mission.”
The network, based in East Lansing, Mich., was established in 2010 and is a combination of private and public not-for-profits to administer the technical and business operations of Michigan's health information exchange cooperative agreement program.
