The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of the first telemedicine robot designed for remote doctor-to-patient consults, Bedford, Mass.-based iRobot announced. The RP-Vita Remote Presence Robot, built by iRobot and privately held InTouch Health, combines state-of-the-art telecommunications and autonomous navigation technology.
