Connecture, Brookfield, Wis., which is helping set up state-based insurance exchanges called for by the healthcare reform law, has acquired DRX, a provider of Web-based enrollment systems for Medicare health plans. Financial terms were not disclosed.
A news release from Connecture says the company builds insurance exchanges both for state clients and private companies, including half of all Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans. DRX, Los Angeles, formerly known as Destination Rx, writes the software used by most new enrollees in the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit, among other business lines.
