Gravity Tank, a Chicago-based “innovation consultancy” specializing in marketing and design, has won the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology and Veteran Affairs Department's health record graphic design contest.
In his blog, presidential innovation fellow Ryan Panchadsaram noted how Gravity Tank's best overall design-winning Nightingale entry “beautifully displayed a person's medications and medical history” and made it easier to understand.
The contest was announced in October, and Panchadsaram noted then how a printed patient record often looked “like a cash register receipt” and was not especially patient friendly. Designers were invited to “rethink how a medical record is presented visually, making it more readable, downloadable, and easy for patients to use.”
Brooklyn-based Studio TACK took second place.
