QuantiaMD, a Waltham, Mass.-based free online community for physicians, has appointed Mike Coyne, the company's president, to the CEO post. Coyne, 38, joined QuantiaMD in August from software vendor Verisk Health, where he also served as CEO.
QuantiaMD announces exec shuffle
Eric Schultz, QuantiaMD's founder and current CEO, has been named executive chairman, according to a company news release.
The company also announced it had tapped Daniel Malloy, former VP at Deerfield, Ill.-based IMS Health, to serve as senior VP. Malloy, 53, held past leadership roles at a number of companies serving the healthcare industry, including PharMetrics, a data and research firm that was acquired by IMS Health in 2005, and InfoMedics.
Founded in 2008 as a collaborative resource for physicians, QuantiaMD has more than 160,000 active users. The company has worked alongside other organizations on a number of initiatives, including a joint project with the Society of Hospital Medicine, launched in 2011, to curb readmissions.
