Passport Health Communications, Franklin, Tenn., has purchased Data Systems Group, a Sacramento, Calif.-based direct revenue-cycle software provider.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Data Systems Group has more than 200 hospital customers with 85 physician sites across 20 states. Passport officials said the company's knowledge of California will be a positive, noting that Data Systems Group was among the first to develop an electronic means of submitting claims to Blue Shield Medicare in the Golden State.
