Outliers assumes your New Year's hangovers are long gone by now. But if you live near Chicago and ever need a quick fix for any other morning-after maladies, a new hydration clinic could offer some relief.
Dr. Jack Dybis, a trauma and general surgeon at Evanston (Ill.) Hospital, has opened Chicago's first hydration clinic, Revive.
For $99, the medical staff will sooth your nausea, headache and cottonmouth with intravenous fluids, vitamins and medications as needed.
“Paramedics and residents have been doing this for decades for colds and flu,” Dybis told Crain's Chicago Business, noting the clinic treats those maladies and jetlag at Revive, too. “You start feeling better right away.” Treatments last about an hour.
Has he used it himself? “Yes, but not for a hangover,” he says. “I'm hooked up right now because I'm getting some B-complex for a cold.”
