The terms of the purchase of IDL Solutions, which specializes in "big data" analytics for healthcare, were not disclosed, although CACI pegged its new acquisition's 2012 revenue at about $18.5 million. IDL has major contracts with the CMS, the FDA and the National Institutes of Health.
The acquisition expands CACI's presence in the $33.5 billion addressable healthcare market and complements the company's November acquisition of Emergint Technologies, a health IT vendor, the released noted.
The purchases followed CACI's receipt of a $45 million contract in July 2012 to provide certain operations and maintenance support services for the National Institutes of Health.
