It wasn't just physicians who were interviewed and who had identified this “problem”: fraud. A former FBI agent working for the system and a person who had reviewed charts for billing also had identified and reported this problem. The executive said he had reported this problem of fraud to the CEO. He was subsequently “fired” from his job. Do we believe that this is the only group that has been caught—how many others are using the same or similar tactics?
How many bad apples are there?
For-profit companies such as this one are the bad apples in the barrel of healthcare delivery. I don't believe there is only one apple in the barrel.
